That is on the steep side for small performance gains.
Now it may be worth it if MSD can give out Dyno numbers on a stock 4.8, 5.3, or 6.0L with the coils as the only upgrade and maybe a K&N, but no power adders, ie: turbo, sc, or NO2.
If they can prove any descent numbers at the rear wheels.... then maybe the $600.00 wouldn't be so bad.
I used MSD on my 93' GT in the past. I used the MSD 6AL box with MSD blaster II coil and picked up more power felt in the seat and a whole 4 mpg gain. That was impressive to me, though that entire set-up only cost me $260.00.

I'd rather pay $5 for a can of red paint.

I'm not really under the impression that we need multiple sparks in our very efficient cylinder heads...

I heard some quote saying that GenIII heads are better (all around) than the race heads available during the muscle-car era.

To be honest, I don't really like the looks of them.

this man is a genius. i totally agree. my understanding says the ecm controls the spark duration and numbers of times it fires in the 4 strokes of a piston.
