that's interesting. In my opinion the lsx price still isn't justified either. that's a good article thanks for posting.

The LSX will give approx 11 HP and 7lbft for the cam I am going with, definately not worth the dough. Although with the 218/222 it might be a little more. There is a big jump between the 212/218 and the 222/224 so its hard to tell. So on an average, lets say 20 hp increase from the truck to the lsx manifold with my cam. Whats the cost of the lsx again? Maybe one loaded with a direct port wouldn't be a bad investment.

Those are peak numbers listed. Its very possible that the LS6/X intakes pull away from the truck intake at higher rpm levels. I am truly suprised with the numbers from the small cam on the truck intake. Its almost like the truck intake doesn't respond well to lower flow.

Me too...

Maybe it's achille's heel of the intake - like the weaker flow of stock heads at .500" lift.

it's probably due to the larger "chamber" (for lack of a better term at the moment) of the truck intake. it has a considerable amount of unused/non-runner space that can cause some serious velocity issue's.
