i have 1' 7/8" suramic coated hooker supercomp longtube headers on my 68 camaro and i love them. Also for what they are they are a desent price. But it all depends on what you want. All i know is whatever headers you deside on get the suramic coated ones, they are well worth it, plus they look good and you dont have to worry about them looking like rusted up peaces of crap in a year or so. O buy the way how big of a motor are you planning on putting in there cause if it is just a little mild motor you dont need the tubes as big as the ones i have. Hope this helps you out.

 

also if you are lookin for some ideas for mufflers you can get some hooker aero chambers like i have on my car or flowmaster supper 40s, or if you liked the sound of the old school supper 40s they are starting to make them again. Havent herd those in a while but all i remember is they sound bad ***. The aero chambers have a real deep sound at idle and around 2500 to 3000 grand they start getting loud. But i dont know what you want. I know they sound good on my car.

 

I have a 305 right now with dual exhaust (no cross over pipe, just straight to the back) with glasspacks and tips. It sounds pretty good, but I heard that they were more restrictive. I have had several people tell me that the sound reminded them of when they were in highschool back in the late '60s to early '70s.

I am, hopefully soon, going to be putting in a 350 that has around 20,000 miles on it (will probably need intake and carb, other than that, I don't know the specs on the motor) but I plan on putting a completely new exhaust in, which is the reason for my asking questions. Also, I'm trying to go with a musclecar theme.

 

cant go wrong with dynomax they are cheaper and a straight thru design.

go with hooker LT headers ceramic coated. then run a x pipe from the headers all the way back to whereever you want to have the mufflers run. then put two 3inch in and out magnaflow round mufflers, their not glass packs and they sound way better and flow way better and will not blow out. It's what Coddington put's on alot of his old cars. Flowmasters always sound good or you could do Bassani which make alot of really good mufflers to whatever style you need they custom build. Also don't run pipes or tips off the muffler, that will give a more distorted sound, most people are looking for a deep powerful tone with a aggressive bark. Rasp and popping comes in if you start adding tips or running them out the side. Unless you like the shitty sound of glass packs(I would rather run nothing then glass packs .

 

absolutley the best sounding muffler is Quickflow, these things are badass this muffler has won several best sounding awards at different car and truck shows!

 

I think mine are starting to blow out.

 

IMO single chamber deltaforce flows.... they sound pretty damn sweet and not too expensive either
