Found this book at a local borders and is stuffed with information mostly for Fbody and vettes but their many mentions of LM7, Lq4 and LR4s. Dyno testing of 1.7 ratio rockers, bolt ons, and engine combinations. Explanations of all the free mods.

i love that book, has all the right stuff i needed to know when assembling the bottom end of my new motor. ring gaps and torque specs closeness tollerances etc. it's great, do a search, there are some good posts about it. the author of it is on this site.

Beware, I have a strong feeling that most of the stuff in there was gained from internet searches and from the boards. Most of it is accurate, but there are some things that are just flat wrong. Example:
Take a look at page 64. He says installing a set of LQ4 heads on an LS1 will drop compression down to 9:1. He didn't take into account that the LQ4 has dished pistons that account for the lower compression. He just looked at the 9.4:1 compression of the LQ4. Adding these heads to an LS1 will not drop compression near that much.
