i am not gonna call it ugly but i don't think it is fine either. some of the pics i have seen with aftermarket help does make it look good imo. i just feel like GM needs to flood the market with the LS1 like dodge, chrysler, plymouth are trying to do with the hemi. I'm sure they have warehouses full of the engines just sitting around around.

The thing with these trucks is that they're basically S10 replacements. They're on the larger side, but the S10's were never known to haul a whole lot either.

What can Tacoma's, Dakota's, and Rangers do?

Speaking of LS1/Colorado... I saw pics of a Viper V10/Dakota a while back before the S-R-T 10 came out.

I thought the S-10's were capable of much more than the Colorado/Canyon are. At least that's what I've heard from the mid-size/compact truck guys - that at least you could use an S-10 as a truck.

you obviously haven't seen a colorado in person if you think it's bigger than an s-10. For reference, my dad used to have a 1991 toyota pickup, the little tiny thing, x-cab, and it is bigger than an x-cab colorado. The beds on those things are miniscule, could hardly hold anything in them. And for the price I saw them stickering at the lot I almost threw up. $26k for something that looks like it could be picked up.

IMO there's no way you should get a colorado over a fullsize, especially with the gas mileage these v8's are getting

GM is trying to take advantage of the truck craze and sell what looks like a diecast Silverado as the real thing. Like someone else said, if you want a compact truck, look elsewhere and you can't help but find a better value. Toyota, Mazda, Nissan - I'd even buy a Ranger before I'd plop down a penny for one of Chevy's new diecasts...

The colorado's have grown on me a lot since I see them everyday now. Hace any of ya'll seen the Sport Colorado? It's all color matched with some low pro wheels. With a 2 inch drop, it would look SWEET! Now ... if only there were a v8 in them. That thing would be amazingly quick. No worries about people thinking it was ugly because it would just be a blur. I want to sa they are about 1000 pounds lighter for an equivalent size truck.
