Default Cherry bomb vortex, catback.

I am looking into a cat back exhaust for my 05 4.8. I am wondering if anyone has any experience with the vortex single exit catback system, and or muffler. If anyone could shred some light on the performance gain or loss and sound of this system I would really appreciate it.

On my 98 Silverado I had a CherryBomb Vortex Dual in/out muffler that I loved. Great sound, heavy as hell but doesn't rust. It might weigh around 15-20 pounds because its made of thick metal which I like.

Was there any cab drone? What size was your exhaust tubing?

I can chime in here, I just had my cat back done on my 05 Silverado 5.3 on Monday. I got a Dynomax I-pipe from Rockauto and the Cherry Bomb single in dual out from Summit with turndowns before the rear axle. Inlet on muffler is 3", exits are 2.5". The CB is nice and loud, muscular. I would heavily recommend to NOT do turndowns as the drone is incredibly annoying. I am working with my dude to run them out the back and dump/hide the outlets near the roll pan. Drone to me is so bad I have ringing in my ears and have a hard time hearing music. I'm not being a candyass, its just too heavy. Maybe on an extended cab or crew cab it may not be so annoying. Food for thought.

Interesting. I did turndowns just the same as you but it was a smaller exhaust tube, dual in/out and on a SBC motor. The one I had was great but sorry to hear that yours is too much. Wonder if you would do better to bring the turndown to the side before axle/tire like the Lightnings. I want to do that as well but have then angled in a way so you cannot see the tips or exhaust unless looking under the truck. Personally, I dont want to mimic a ford product. All my friends are ford drivers and I just dont wanna hear it from them

I have a Vortex on my Silverado. I may have a stock cam idle video. Sounded pretty good.
