The tubing is from STS, snorkle kit. It is a very heavy duty steel wire wrapped in a heavy fabric. Nice tubing. I only had to run about 2 ft to connect to the bed. It drives great. I was affraid because of its possition it may cause breathing problems at higher speeds and boost, but no problems.

I was thinking that grate on the front of that box might be a little small, but with only 6 psi, it might be OK.

Very Nice! I'm considering doing something similiar if I do go the STS route. One extra thing I have is a tight fitting hard tonneau cover, so I'm not sure if I would have to worry about lack of airflow.

Sweet setup man! I was kinda thinking of how to reuse my Volant intake when the kit shows up and was leaning toward the setup you fabbed.
I am also wondering about the mesh tubing collapsing at higher boost. Hard to keep an eye on it when moving tho.

when i get my kit, im going to do something like that, im going to run the air cleaner into the bed, but i have a bed cover, so i will leave it exposed, it will not be enclosed. and im sure there will be plenty of leakage for breathing of the filter.
that looks good tho.
what did you have to change on the truck to run the sts? if you dont mind?
im doing one and thought an inline, bigger injectors, and a little tunning.
i was also going to buy a small Intercooler for the reason, i plow and tow. thanks

These are all of the mods I did. STS 5psi, custom frame mounted IC, Nelson tune, 160 * thermostat, 43 lb injectors, Walbro 255 fuel pump, TR-6 plugs, Ran air intake into bed of truck. I run up to 8 psi now so I had to do the IC. I was maxing out the stock injectors so I upgraded. I did the fuel pump just to make sure I never run out of fuel.

I tow a lot and my trailer is very heavy. The only issue Ive had was EGT's. I have a To4E-60 turbo with a .96 A/R housing. Im getting ready to put on a 1.15 A/R housing to see if I can lower my EGT's on steep grades. Right now I have to turn my boost down to 3 psi If Im pulling long steep, 8*, grades.

Your set up looks great, where did you get the intercooler from and what are the specs on it? Just wondering what the future will hold for me after I get the STS kit and get used to 5psi of boost. Thanks.

I got the IC from a company on E-bay called Extreme Turbo. The owner "JR" is a really nice guy. I had mine sized to fit just under the passenger side rear door. It was 25 x 7 x 3 1/2, 28" long tank to tank. I had the inlet ofset and the outlet center. All I had to do is remove one section of piping and cut about 2" off the other. I then built a scoop to funnel air through it. It dropped the temps about 40 deg.

You have to either get a boost controller or rout your boost reference up to the manifold because you will see about 1 1/2 psi boost drop through the IC.

Good luck, I love it but it does take a little patience and tweeking to get it right.
