Default Changing the headlight bulb?

I thought i'd ask before I broke something. Is the bulb itself the only part that should come out of the metal retainer that is attached to the plastic plug/holder? I kind of tugged on it and it doesn't want to budge.

The bulb is connected to a socket which you twist and it pops out, then you can remove the bulb from the socket and put it back in. You have to push this little tab in for the socket to twist free.
