Default Ceramic coating coming off ASM headers

Is this anything to be worried about? Rust problems? What does the coating do anyway? It's starting to flake off the passenger side right at the collector.

Well. Not the first time I have read about this. Thus why I wont ever buy any ASM's.

Not alot you can do. Unless you want to take the headers off and get them replaced or re-coated.

If everything goes well I'll be pulling the motor later this fall, so I'll just wait and have them re-coated then.

Thanks for the replies

If you don't get them recoated they will rust and if you lived here they would rust fast. Definately worth getting them recoated when you have the engine out if you want them to keep looking sharp.
