no cats do help power. any type of restriction in the exhaust hurts performance so removing them will help free up some of the restricitons.
also you dont need backpressure, just just need to make sure you have the right volicity [sp] of exhaust to create power. to large of pipes will hurt, to small of pipes hurt also. this is where you want ot match the pipe size to the setup.
no cats will INCREASE the sound of the exhaust. it will be alot louder without cats

You like the smell???? Can we say your killing your brain cells!
The high flow cat do not have much restriction. They are a nice replacement to your stock cats and gives you legal emmissions to pass emmission tests.
The freer flowing exhaust does take away back pressure that does reflect on hurting your low end power and throttle response. It will make up for itself in the mid to upper rpm's, but I like a little back pressure for daily driving.
I would have to say go with high flow cats!

I didn't notice any loss in throttle response or low end power, but i also have a TCI sf 3000.. I pulled a better 60' time and consistently trap a whole 1 MPH faster with out the cats.. I did have to slightly adjust my VE table with HP Tuners..

Me too . This also gives politicians ammunition for even tighter controls on what we can do with our vehicles. Those who abuse freedoms, lose them. Now a good challenge would be to build a truck that is both fast and clean. I believe it can be done.

Actually I stuck high flow cats on my truck just for that reason. My goal is to make it burn clean, if not be "legal", and still run 12s in a 4x4 EC
