You will lose a little bottom end but you will gain quite a bit of top end. Thats what I noticed in my heavy azz truck. Get a stall after that and you will only haul ***. How many miles are on the cats. It will be alot louder and have more poppyness in it if you dont already have an x-pipe get one. Talk to mark at dp muffler he will fix you up he has done my 1600 bucks worth of exhaust work. I have had pretty much everything on my truck and when I get my lt headers I will getting my cats taken back off and my dynomax racing bullets put back on. Thats the setup that I would recommend. I see you are from my neck of the woods I dont know if you know brent wilson the guy that had that black rcsb with a roll pan 20's and everything shaved. He had the no cat bullet dumped setup and it sounded good IMO.

No Cats...the sound is awesome!!!
As far as performance is concerned, I don't think there's much difference, but if you're planning on going high-performance on it, removing the cats will open that exhaust up...Mine has a 2 1/2 inch pipe from the headers to the x-pipe...
