Default Cats or no cats?

Alright how much would it either benefit or hurt my truck to remove my cats and weld in straight pipe? my mods are in my sig and my o2 sensors are turned off already.

You will lose a little bottom end but you will gain quite a bit of top end. Thats what I noticed in my heavy azz truck. Get a stall after that and you will only haul ***. How many miles are on the cats. It will be alot louder and have more poppyness in it if you dont already have an x-pipe get one. Talk to mark at dp muffler he will fix you up he has done my 1600 bucks worth of exhaust work. I have had pretty much everything on my truck and when I get my lt headers I will getting my cats taken back off and my dynomax racing bullets put back on. Thats the setup that I would recommend. I see you are from my neck of the woods I dont know if you know brent wilson the guy that had that black rcsb with a roll pan 20's and everything shaved. He had the no cat bullet dumped setup and it sounded good IMO.

No Cats...the sound is awesome!!! As far as performance is concerned, I don't think there's much difference, but if you're planning on going high-performance on it, removing the cats will open that exhaust up...Mine has a 2 1/2 inch pipe from the headers to the x-pipe...

So what if you gut them and leave em there, so it looks official? What will having that big empty bubble in the middle of the pipe do to exhaust flow?

Put a straight pipe through it if you want to keep the cat shell cause it will cause turbulence and the performance gain will be voided.

I had pipe welded in where my cats where......

It is much..much louder... But the gains were also large.... almost too large.... Mine were clogged pretty bad....

On the dyno i gained
