Default Catback for the Ave

I've been looking around for catback systems for my 04 Avalanche and I have come across one issue. Is the Gibson muffler baffled design or is it straight through? I have seen the Magnaflow for $540 and had pretty much decided on it till I ran across the Gibson. I just wanted the straight through design and couldnt get an answer on what the Gibson was. Anyone know?

Chris

Pretty sure the gibson is straight through as well. PM me and ill get you some prices on both systems. If you already have the part numbers you are looking at that would be great.

If your looking for a straight through muffler. I would also consider Corsa.

I believe gibson is baffled and strait through at the same time, if that makes sense. The one I saw, there was 3 chambers with a perferated tube running through each of the chambers. Since it has chambers, there is no packing, like glass or wool or whatever.

Unless you like drone I would not get the Gibson. I couldn't get their crap-back off my AV soon enough. The only think I kept from it was the 3" flange, which came in handy when I welded up 2 Magnaflows in series.

I would also highly recomend the corsa, but its going to be quite a bit more money than either of the other two. My second choice would be magnaflow. for sure.

Thanks guys, looks like I might consider Magnaflow based on the price of the Corsa, I would love the Corsa, but at the same time could use the price difference for some general maintenance coming up since I have just bought the vehicle.
