Default f'in headers!

let me ask this when you drive with passetteres( those who have them) do you hear more engine noises than you did before, bec i hear the typacial exaust but i hear other noises.
i think they are leaking i had collector flages welleded on and the other 2 joints welded. but i can still smell exaust sometimes. could the gasket in the collctor lfange be leaking? i was thinking of useing alot of copper rtv and anew gaskets, will this work? thanks

The exhaust wont smell rich if its tuned right. You will hear more engine noise thats jus thow it is will lt headers. Go with some thick copper gaskets or go with a header buddy setup then you for sure wont have any leaks.

Just as slow said, even if the exhaust is sealed tightly, you will hear more of the noises that the engine makes. The thinner walls of the headers combined with better scavenging will actually amplify the internal engine noises...not to mention make your exhaust tone change.

Its not in the tune, you just dont have the cats burning off alot of the excess exaust plus most of us without cats have aftermarket cams with alot of overlap and that plays havoc with the 02's. Get used to the smell.

Remember what i said about it echoing? Its gonna smell like exhaust because you have no cats. I say, just embrace it.

Light up a cigarette and crawl under there while its running. If you suspect a leak let the smoke rise up over the connection and see if it blows away or gets disturbed. Of course it cant be breezy outside. Best bet is to pull into the garage and try it. A headache indicates an exhaust leak. Unless youre 1Slow01Z71, then its probably brain damage.

EDIT: If you have any fuel leaks the above idea is BAD!
