Ive been looking to redo my exhaust and put cats back on. I called a local muffler shop and asked for a quote to put on magnaflow cats but he said theyd recommend the cherry bomb cats intead. I looked around on the web and found the cherry bombs cost more. Anyone have experience with the cherry bomb cats or do you think they are trying to make a higher sell with the cherry bombs?

theyre definitely just trying to make more money off of you by recommending parts that they probably have ins tock and will make the most profit off of. if it were me, id order the magnaflows on line and whatever else you need and just take it to them to do all the welding. that is if you trust their work. theres only one guy in town that i would trust to do any of my exhaust work, no one else will touch it.

Buy the cats online and bring em to them.

The magnaflow cats are pretty good

Edit: I see you're from Crosby...I grew up in Baytown and the only exhaust place I let touch my exhaust is Garbs in Baytown. I highly recommend them

I'd buy them online and bring them in. You can probably find a good deal on them. They are going to try to make a buck.

Don't know anything about the Cherry Bombs, but the Magnaflows have an excellent rep. I'd take the advice given above and get some Mags, either on Amazon, ebay, etc, wherever you can find them cheapest. If the exhaust shops starts to give you **** about warranty and whatnot, take your business elsewhere or tell them to warranty everything but the cats (which should have their own warranty card in the box that you fill out and mail in)

Yea i used to always take my vehicles to Garbs but i work off I-10 near Uvalde so i was gonna go to Uvalde Muffler so they could do it while i was at work. Ive heard good things about them, but current setup is obx lts with catless y pipe to 10 series flowmaster. Looking to get magnaflow cats 2 1/2 in/out and true dual with magnaflow mufflers. Gonna be putting a 224/230 110 cam in in 2weeks so anyone got any part numbers for cats and mufflers theyd recommend? Like to be somewhat mild not to loud or too quiet. Right now truck is loud with the 10 series flowmaster and with the cam i think my neighbors may begin to hate me even more lol.

I'm too lazy too look up part numbers but a Spintech 6000 would sound mean as hell on your truck, especially with a cam. I've never heard my truck from the outside but it seems a tad bit quieter than my friends truck with a Flow 10.

Plus the tone of a Spintech is just fuggin awesome, goes from a kitty like purr to the roar of a lion
