Default Cat Question

Once I get my roll pan put on I'm gonna have to take my truck to the muffler shop and get them to shorten my exhust tips to make it look right. I've been thinking about getting them to cut off the cats (or cat, not sure) while its in there and they are hacking on it anyway. Are there any downsides to this besides throwing the check engine light because of the back O2 sensor? If not then what/where would I need to go to get the CE light cut off? I've been thinking about getting a wait4me tune so should I just wait and tell the guy to cut off the light when he sends me the PCM back or what? Thanks.

i know most shops in my area won't cut off the cats because its illegal...and when u order your tune u can just tell them to turn off the rear o2 sensors...and the light wont come on

Default wait for the wait for me!

I would wait for the tune. Just tell the tuner to delete the rear o2s. Then get the computer in and go get the cats removed, i recommend cat removal. Helped out a lot on top end!
