Default Cat back vs. my set up

How i see a lot of cat backs run off the factory y-pipe. My truck runs from the factory y to a race muffler and nothing else. How would i gain from one besides maybe torque. I know some of you are gonna say buy headers. wonk wonk wonk wonk......thanks in advance

So you have no pipe after the muffler? Well i know that in race cars the length of the pipe can make a WORLD of difference in torque and HP. so you could possibly get a few HP from adjusting the length on the pipe after the muffler. Like most i am going to say get headers and cut the cats off.But thats expensive, so if anyone else has a better idea or think im totally wrong chime in and shed some light on this
