the difference between 4.8, 5.3, 6.0

i know these three motors are built on the same block, but whats the difference in the parts that make them up? could i build a 6.0 by swaping parts?

a friend of mine from texas had the same question and he ended up dropping a 6.0 in to replace the 5.3 so i would guess there is a significant difference. if that helps answer your question.

the 5.3s 15hp faster than the 4.8, and the 6.0s like 40-50hp faster than the 5.3.

A 6 liter has a different block with a 101.6 mm bore. The 5.3 and 4.8 have a 96.01 mm bore. The 5.3 and 6.0 share the same stroke with crank and rods. The 4.8 has a short stroke.

You could turn your motor into a 6 liter if you got a new block and pistons. Heads are different as well.
