those 2 things are most likely what i am going to buy. I would like to do the install myself which means it has to be bolt on. what exactly would be involved in doing this? i am only doing one cut out so it would have to be after the two cats are connected by piping (the Y pipe?) can i expect everything to bolt right up?

 

the cut out will change everything. A good Cat-Back will bolt right in. It sounds like you need to install the Cat-back and bring the cutout with you to an exhaust shop and let them make the cut and weld it in.... BTW, it is possible to remove the stock cat-back without cutting it

 

how will the cut out affect that much? i take it that it HAS to be welded? the only thing im worried about with the cat back is that its 3" and stock piping is 2.75"

 

a GOOD catback system will have the flange to bolt up right after the y-pipe, that's how my Corsa is. The cut-out will add an extra 6-8", you'll have to cut that much out and weld it in - it could be clamped, but I wouldn't risk it, if it comes loose it'll get destroyed

 

did you realize that you will not be able to have your spare tire under your truck anymore with the summit cat-back?

secondly, you should also expect problems later down the road with just about any cut out because the water/ moisture in the exhaust will cause the hinges of the cut out to rust.

For a 180 bucks your going to get what you pay.

Me personally I would wait for a sale on a better quality cat-back......... I think you will be happier.

I waited until Tbryne had a sale on mine and im very happy with it.

 

there are several for sale in the used section and Tbryne also has some GP's on some... throw him an e-mail of call him and see what one would cost you.
