Default Carnage Time! Need advice

So on the highway last night i was gettin' on it a little (half throttle) and all hell broke loose. there was loud clunking and huge vibrations and a long trail of oil. I've only looked at it briefly cuz i had to go to school today but it looks like i may have thrown the #4 rod. it blew a solid 4 inch hole in the oil pan. i will try and have some pics later this weekend or whenever i pull the motor.

So now i need advice. i'm not too keen on just throwing another 5.3 in but i dont have the money for an LS1 or and 80E swap. so my question is, i know its been asked before, but could i just put a stock LQ4 in front of my 60E and have it be ok. My tranny has upgraded clutches, sunshell, and a shift kit and shifts rock solid behind my 5.3. Also would it just be a better idea to throw a cam (maybe a Comp 265 HR) in the new 5.3 and call it a day? I was just thinking that there is not a huge power difference between the two motors and i do highway miles 95% of the time. thanks in advance guys.

do you already have another 5.3? I believe a stock LQ4 would be fine there, for a little while...

I've had my stock 60e behind my LQ9 for 6 months no problem.

my lq4 w/ the tr224 is in front of my 110000 mile 60e. it mostly depends on your driving habits how long to will last. just don't be an idiot. and i really don't cut mine much slack at all.

yeah, that's kinda what i figured. i dont race anymore, all i really want is a good solid motor and a little more power. i think i will just do the 6.0 and then save for the 80E swap and a big stall if i wanna go fast again.

anyone else have an opinion, anybody fried a 60E just by doing a 6.0 swap and not beating the hell outa it?

pics are coming next week when i have the motor pulled and on the stand.

so i have decided to go with another 5.3 for financial reasons, but now i need a quick answer. i can get a real good deal on a 2005 5.3, but its a DBW and my hoe is not. can i just swap the intake, TB fuel rails and everything off my olod motor and use it on the new one and bolt it in? is there any difference between the 05 block and my 02? gonna try and order the motor soon so any help would be great.

I swapped a 06 motor into mine. Everything was the same but the oil pressure sensor I believe.
