Default Carbon canister???

This thing is full of trash and dirt. It is setting off the service engine light. I think it might have something to do with my cold idle miss it sometimes has. To replace it is $325, is there a way to by-pass the carbon canister so I dont have to replace it and my service engine light will quit coming on.
Thanks
Ryan

It's your charcoal canister, it's an evaporative emission device that stores fuel vapors until they are later burned through the intake by your purge valve. I doubt that it has anything to do with your cold misfire. I suppose that you could tune out the evap codes with tuning software.

I'm assuming this is on your '06. It's underneath the truck, next to the gas tank.

Ok, thanks for the info. I think my idle issue is my knock sensors now that I have done some research.
