Thanks guys! Yeah, this thing is a blast.
I've got a new hood ordered, so it shouldn't look like this for long.
Whitt: Actually I pulled the whole front end set up off of one of the truck engines here in the shop, so I am indeed running the truck crank pulley. I'll have to do some more checking on why the boost is low (including trying a different gauge). I would like to try a 2.75" pulley and see what I can get with that.
L-EATER: Glad I could help you decide.

I tried to think it thru as a package when I was putting this together.
The cam is the LPE GT2-3.
207/220 .573/.580 117.5 LSA!
I thought that would be a boost friendly cam, especially with that LSA.
I'm shifting at 6200 RPM. I could push that higher; I was shifting at 6600 with my old setup, but I don't want to over rev the blower since I'm running the 3.0" pulley (if that's even possible to do).
The only other thing that crossed my mind is that maybe the LS1 breathes a lot better than a 5.3, making it harder to build boost?? Seems like a long shot though.

THe more cubes does take more air to fill it up. That will be one reason for the lower boost.
The blower is rated at 14k rpms, I'm spinning mine up to about 16.5k, and once I get things running again, I may spin it up to just over 17k. I shift at 6500 and have the 3.1" pulley on. Rumer has it ... it's good to about 18k but isn't warrantied at that speeds. Some lightning guys are getting that much out of them.
