I wouldn't. dual valvesprings are cheap compaired to bent valves/cracked heads/chewed up cylinder walls. Especially if your are boosting....it'd prob start getting scary at 3000 rpms.

I like the idea of LS6 springs for 2 reasons. 1. They are cheap. & 2 Comp 918's have a bad reputation for being noisy. I'm just not sure that they are strong enough for my application.

Any opinions or experience with similar setup?

it's your engine man. At your mod level..I'm surprised your worried about a spring being too noisy. I run Patriot Gold duals in the Z28. The exhaust note overpowers the sewing machine under the hood. :Edit: Stock Z06 cam lift is .551/.551 I believe. More than that + boost just doesn't seem like a safe bet to me.

Your probably right. The budget is tight right now and I'm trying to make this fit in but I don't want to save $100 and blow an engine.

I know that Lingenfelter sell those springs with their GT2-3 cam which is higher lift than the Comp cam but the ramps may not be as aggressive.

I'm not sure of the lingenfelter but the XRs are pretty brutal. I'm assuming you are going with hardened pushrods as well? Do what I do when funds are running short...sell parts I don't need. Last one was the Air conditioning...lol On the car of course, never the truck.

Yea, pushrods are a given.

Im going with LS6 springs next time I do a cam swap. I have the 918s in there. Im always afraid they will break. And they are freaking noisy.

For what its Worth, Lingenfelter runs LS6 springs with the GT2-3 which has slightly higher lift than the hilift 212/218.

I have a comp 222/224/112lsa and I have the z06 springs, this is on an l33 and I had a similar cam in an lq9 with the same springs. I know alota people who run them and never have any probs. Personally I think all non-stock springs are "noisy"
