Default Can i get away with just one?

Wanted to know if it was possible to run just a single 3 in/out cat on my current setup instead of putting two in the y pipe? Wanted to put it after the y pipe comes together, after the cross member for the tranny. I'll have to extend the rear 02 sensors, but thats no big deal. What do ya'll think? Thanks

I don't think so, moving the CATs from the stock location is not allowed...

well i dont have them at all now, im sure thats not allowed. In GA they just stick a metering device in the tailpipe and reading the exhaust coming out, thats it. You pass or fail, there is no inspection

I would say you should be fine with one. That is what I did with my turbo set up. Ran 1 magnaflow 3 inch right after the downpipe. You could also just delete the rear 02's.

Im planning on heading down to Jacksonville for the tune this month, i'll have them deleted then, but when i moved back to North GA ill have to pass emissions again so i was trying to plan ahead a little. Plus after the lt and ory install its a little raspy on the top end, was hoping a hi flow cat might get rid of that and get me back legit for the future

I understand. That is the only reason I am running one.

The cat may not get hot enough or it may take too long to get hot that far back in the exhaust.

AH hah, so im guessing there is a certain temp that it needs to run at to be efficient? Is this part of the process for removing the c02? souds like we might get into a physics lesson here.......

you know, my tuner told me that if you have them tune it really lean, then take it to the sniffer, it'll pass. then just get it tuned back to normal after your inspection is complete.

i've also heard putting a ton of dry gas in the tank can get you to pass to.

I dont want to do anything that could effect the longevity of the motor, when for 150 bucks it can get a cat. Honestly, grass in the tank? Dont think ill be trying that
