Default Cams and Rockers!!

I've been thinking getting new cams and rockers for my 01' 6.0L. I've been thinking about the CompCams or CraneCams (In MCT Magazine). I know it gives around 25-35 horses but the labor is the expensive part. I dont have the technical expertise to do this so I have to do this professionally. So does anybody have any input about the specific type of cams that would help and what compression for the new rockers since I think the stock compression is 1.5:1 and some rockers I have seen are 1.68:1 or 1.81:1.

Any info about specific cams would be greatly appreciated. Does anyone have them installed in their engines. Are they good for daily use and offroad use.

Comments please!! Any info would be greatly appreciated!!

Thanks!

Stock rockers are 1.7:1. The only benefit to changing rockers is if you have a small cam. But if you change the cam and order it with more lift, you dont need larger ratio rockers, make sense?

Comp cams make very good cams. 90% of the cams that guys on this site run are from Comp.

You should really contact a sponsor to get the best advice and order your stuff. Look at all the banners on the right ---------->

contact project-r performance, they're a sponsor on here and brian can probably get you a good deal on a cam/springs setup. cams with the mild duration numbers and lift in the .550-560"range usually make good power, with a 112-115 LSA depending on personal preferance

So i should just contact project-R performance and get it from them. Anything else you guys can recommend? Basically the truck is going to be for daily and offroad use. But thanks again for the help and I will buy them through which ever sponsor you guys recommend, if you guys have any specific contact at the sponsor please tell me.

thanks

mal.

Since you live in Santa Clara you should give Rick a call at Synergy Motorsports in San Jose 408-592-0404.

Brian at Project-R is pretty cool...he's always treated me good as a customer, always sends parts very quickly and always packages things very well. definatly one of the more professional sponsors on this board, just not one of the more known.
