cam valve spring help?

Default cam valve spring help?

Looking at maybe a TR220 or TR224 cam or equivilant comp cam

what valve springs will i need?

Do i need new retainers and seats etc...?

just seeing exaclty what i need so i can start pricing

i think you will need at least 918's. not sure what the lift is. i would get new keepers and hardened push rods. no seats will be needed. and the stock retainers will work. good luck. and get a good tool and some fittings for air in the cylinders. i put on a 12" hose on my fitting and it made it easier.

I would recomend either the comp 918 (if you buy used make sure they are blue stripes) or the manley kit from SDPC. Both are good to .600" lift. For the only a few dollars more the manley kit comes with Ti retainers. You do not need new retainers, seats or keepers with these two springs. The springs are made to reuse you stock stuff.

why does it have to have the blue stripe? i keep seeing this? what does the stripe mean?

The blue stripe marks it as one of the revised 918. A while back Comp had a few bad batches of 918 which would break with lifts well under .600" When they fixed the problem the started marking them with the blue stripes rather than the yellow(I think it was yellow?) they previously marked them with.
