cam with towing?
#1
i am looking at a cam a friend of mine has for sale, its a tr220 112LSA. my question is what size TC should i run and how bad will this affect towing up to about 2500 lbs? or should i just forget towing all togethor and borrow my moms truck to tow with? i am looking for something definately streetable but i want to put down some good numbers at the track. How much power are yall seeing in 5.3's with 220 cam, headers, y pipe, exhaust, intake and tune? times? thanks for putting up with what im sure is another dumb question. i searched but couldnt really find much of an answer

You do a lot of towing? If you do, I'd probably recommend a 2600 stall converter.
If a better 1/4 mile time is more important, go with a Yank TT3000. With this converter you'll still have full towing capacity but you'll definitely feel the "looseness" of the converter when towing.

If that's all you tow, I'd go with the TT3000 then. Go to http://www.converter.cc/converters/truck/truck_main.htm and it gives a quick rundown of what their recommended use/towing is for each converter, mild to wild.
