I need some suggestions for a cam for my 6.0. I plan on running a direct port setup on my stock motor to see how far I can push it before it goes boom. So what do ya'll suggest ? I have a 4000 stall with 2.8 str and 3.42 gears in the rear but am willing to upgrade and have been considering 3.90's thanks to slowverado so what do ya'll suggest ?

 

It depends on how high you want to spin it. For some good power up high to compliment your stall, get something like a 220/226 116 XE - high lift.

 

I will spin it as high as I can with the stock 6.0 so about 6500 or so ? Can I go higher without having to worry about spinning it too far ?

 

Spinning to 6500 will put a strain on the stock bottom end. I wouldn't go higher. You could go with a bigger cam and spin higher, but you'd really shorten its lifespan. I think you are better off staying below 6500. Your truck has been out of commission so long, try to keep it running as long as you can.

 

get a bedrug marc....that'll get you into the 11s for sure with a very small shot.
