very true, but I make up for it on the top end

Definitely depends on how you like to drive your vehicle. If you like to race around, if you spend a lot of time between 3500-6000 RPM, and don't really care about mileage (which I presume with a 3K stall you don't...) then you are definitely making the right choice by going bigger with the cam. Street manners will suffer a little as a result, but of course you already know this.

My power starts right at 600 RPM's and goes all the way through 6000 RPM's. I've driven many people around who had no idea I had even one performance modification done to my vehicle, which is how I like it. I can drive like an old man at 1/4 throttle all day long, staying between 600-2000 RPM"s through every gear, and retain full power and control at all times.

When I get on it, however, there is a **** load of power everywhere, not just up top. This is what I wanted, and what I got. Gas mileage is also important to me, so I get optimum mileage...the same mileage I had before the blower and the cam (prior to the 3.73->4.10 gear change that is).

Definitely get what you want, but don't kid yourself about your daily driving habits. If you want to drive normally even half the time (i.e. between 1000-3000 RPM's), you'll likely be disappointed with a TR224 in a 5.3L.

you are absolutley right, get what you want, what i want is the best available time for myvehicle, not only make it a little more powerful and still streetable, i for one like to go big to stay ahead when the Tree comes down.. my 220 cam and 3k stall works good for daily driving. i drive it almost everyday and not just back and forth to work. and still have the urge to go bigger, what i drive now may not seem streetable to others but streetable to me, i may find a "streetable" limit but i'm no where near it yet.

After talking with Roger at VHP, I'm pretty much sold on the accelerated lift rockers along with "the trucker"...but I'm still not ready to pick up the phone and order...

Chances are pretty good the truck will not be a daily driver in a few months Although I want to keep it streetable and comfortable.
