Cam suggestions for 5.3 Radix
#1
I'm getting the temptation bug with this Vinci sale going on.....
Here is the situation:
5.3
Radix w/ 3.0 pulley
Yank 3k stall
Dynatech long tubes/magnaflow muffler w/cutout (and I may be deleting the cats in the future)
smog doesn't matter
I dont want to overspin the blower so I'm thinking 6k-6200 shifts
I dont care if it idles super smooth or ground shakingly lopey - as long as makes good power.
I dont feel the need for more low end, but more wouldn't hurt. My main goal is maintaining present power throughout but adding more mid/top end.
Do any of these cams available from Vinci fit my needs?
Truck cams: http://www.vincihighperformance.com/...s%20truck.html
LS1 cams: http://www.vincihighperformance.com/...%20LS1%202.htm
I'm also considering the "accelerated lift rockers", and I assume they'll work with any of these cams.
Thanks for the help

With a 3K stall, you can go 212/218 high lift, or even bigger, like 218/224, and rev right into the powerband. It all depends on at what RPM you want usuable power. However, with a 5.3L, you will slowly start losing low end with anything over a 208 or 210 intake duration.

What about the 045, it sounds like a good choice.
