Default Cam selection

My brother has a 04 Z-71 with the 5.3, 4.10 gears, and 37" tires. He's wanting to put a different cam in it. And all he wants out of the cam is basically a good choppy idle. He still pulls a bass boat so he doesn't want to lose any lowend, but doesn't care if it just stays the same, I think he'd be happy with a decent midrange cam, but it has to have a rough idle. Is there a off the shelf cam that'll fit the bill, or do we need to go custom? Also, is there anything besides cam/springs/tune that'll need to be done? He already has longtubes, exhaust, CAI, and a hypercrap(has to go)

Sounds like he wants two opposite cams.

Small= good for towing, lowend power.
Big=choppy idle, more highend power.

A small cam will lope a little bit though. Especially if it isnt tuned well.

He doesn't want more lowend power, just doesn't want to lose any. I guess I'll have to have one ground.

it'll lope to his liking. tell him to do a 4400 stall as well.

valve overlap causes lope not the "size" of the cam

That's a little on the small side.

He would like it to idle rougher than my truck, and I have a 216/218 .541/.544 on a 113LSA in my truck.
