Cam questions??
Has anyone put a stock SS or Trans Am cam in there 4.8/5.3. I can have one for nothing but if I have to pay all the money for labor I want my ***-meter to register a noticable gain. Also what have all of you paid for cam swaps, just labor?

Re: Cam questions??
I tried the Camaro ls1 cam and it didn't do very good at all. It lost it's low end torque all together and wouldn't even spin the tires if you held the brake and stomped on the gas. It did start to pull harder than before above 4000 rpm but it was a dog other than that. I pulled the thing back out the very next weekend after I installed it.

Re: Cam questions??
I paid $350 for the cam to be installed and $225 for the springs to be installed. The Crane Cam 208/216 w/ .530/.530 lift @ 113, is a kick-*** cam. Just make sure you have whoever is doing the install to adjust the butterfly in the throttle body. I didn't and it kept surging from 200-500rpms, after it would warm up and die if I come to a stop. But, after adjusting the throttle body it idles great.
