From what the cam guys have been telling me, 206 intake is as high as you want to go with a 5.3L, 210-212 intake with a 6.0L, if you don't want to lose anything down low....anything bigger than that and you'll end up wanting an aftermarket converter.

Ive seen guys run the 212/218 Comp I think in a 5.3 with no problems...
someone told me it was the lift numbers that you have to watch out for.

There have been guys putting up threads syaing how their 212/218ish cams work well without a converter but I'm sure you're going to lose some bottom end no matter what. I think you just have to decide #1 how do you want to drive the truck #2 how high do you wanna spin it.

Since I never tried a cam smaller then an 02' Z06 I can't say how the small ones work but I will say stay away from that cam or my 226cam if you wanna run well on a stock converter... But I did trap 97mph with the 226cam and headers/tune/converter on a raceweight of 4900lbs.
