Agreed on that cam being on the big side for a 4.8, but saying that anything over .550 is too big for stock heads is counterproductive is just wrong. It depends on airflow, specifically where the airflow stalls in the stock heads. Lobe design plays a major factor in that as well. Exhaust system mods, the list is long. There are plenty of guys on here running .580 to .61x on stockers making great power.

No matter what cam you put in it you're going to have to delete DOD. End of story. New lifters, new lifter trays, new valley cover and likely more.

The sales guy at thunder told me that I should run the cheater v3 with 925 of the 926 springs from them if I'm gonna supercharge it... Lol decisions decisions

@ black cash and 03 blackouts .... What do u think about that cheater v3 and the 926 springs with the magnacharger tvs1900 ... Or will some of those otter cams do fine for less ... I'll be running 4.10s with posi, gibson shorty headers, and magnaflow exhaust, and a dyno tune

DOD delete? What? 4.8s don't have DOD; what gives? Do you have a 4.8 or do you have DOD? You don't have both.

if i understood this correctly the 4.8 has DOD with flex fuel.... but it doesnt have the VVT that the 5.3 and 6.2 have

I called the dealer I purchased I from And they told me that the 5.3 and 6.2 only had vvt in 11'....... That's weird

If that is correct I might as well leave the stock cam and supercharge it with the stock cam.... ? Opinions?
