Default cam question

Got a cam here, its a 228R cam card, but the cam says 220R.

FUll cam card says 228R, with 228R specs.
Serial numbers match cam to card.

Could it have been an engraving error?

any opinions?

bought it new from a guy.
I was going to put it in the truck, but decided the stall needed was too high for a DD. So I just sold it to another guy, and I never even looked at the engraving on the cam, because why would it be different?

If the serial numbers match, is it a 228R?
or should a shop just check it out?

If the cam has 220r engraved in it, then I'd be almost certain they put the wrong cam card in the box.

What else does it say on the cam?
Can you post up a pic?

It has the serial, and the cam grind.

I have a pic somwhere, let me dig it up.

but the serial number on the cam card, and the serial number on the cam match.

but the grind engraved on the cam, does not match the grind printed on the card?

back to the shop questions, can a shop check it out (is it possible)?
or should I call comp - who ground the cam, to ask about it?

thunder racing has a cam doctor, I'm sure you could send it to them to have it verified.

Best bet would be to call comp IMO

Checked with some local people, and they said call comp.
everyone is pretty sure its a 228, since the serials match.

but Ill call comp in the morning.

Hey guys, I am the guy who bought the cam off of Modern_Muscle. Here is the post I made on ls1tech.com with some pictures........

Hey guys,
I bought a cam from a member here which was supposed to be a 228R 114. I got the cam today and the card says 228R 114 but engraved on the actual cam is 220R 114.

I contacted the seller and he has been great about this whole situation (he never noticed the cam said 220R 114 since he never really examined it after he bought it). Anyway he offerd a full refund including my cost to ship it back but he mentioned that if the serial number on the card and the cam match it should be a 228R. I checked and they do match so now I am more confused. Anyway here are some pictures. Can anyone (including someone at TSP) tell me for sure this is a 228R and just engraved incorrectly from TSP or if in fact I did get a 220R. That way I know if I should send it back or not.

The numbers on the actual cam I see are:
220R 114
08139-08
315601
372234

Anyway here are the pics...

Thanks for any help.
