heres the deal, i am cleaning up under the hood on my 01 silverado. The truck is basically an all out show truck thats gets driven everywhere (i tried turning her into a trailor queen once but i had problems doing that so i told myself it will always be driven to shows) so anyways the truck has a stock 4.8 motor in it. I am putting an LS1 intake manifold (im doing this because its alot cheaper than the LS6. power is not what im going for, looks and hood clearance are), ceramic coated headers, removing EGR, billet fuel rails, etc. While ive got it all tore apart i want to put a cam in it. More power is good but i am not building this truck to go fast. The main reason i want the cam is the sound. I love the sound of a loping engine. Anyways what cam would be good for me? Any suggestions, comments, experiences etc would be great. Also do i need to swap out my valve springs too? Any other thing a concern while i have the motor tore all apart. Please help!

If you want it to lope alot, id say like a 224/224 cam.
