Default Cam Question

Hey... I Have A 2000 Gmc Sierra Ext-cab: K&n Induction, Asp Crankshaft
Pulley, Hypertech Programmer, Ported Tb, Shorty Header, Magnaflow Catback,
100 Shot Of Nitrous, Tci 3000 Stall Converter, Posi 373 Gear,.... I WAS WOUNDERING WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE TR 220/220 551/551 112 AND THE 114? I WAS TOLD THAT THE 114 WILL PERFORM BETTER SINCE IT'S A HEAVY TRUCK, I'M JUST ASKING TO SEE WHAT YOU'LL THINK OR KNOW?

The guys at comp cams suggest a 112 to keep the tq and/or give you more tq. Just my .02cents.

02 denali, SO THE 112 YOU THINK IT'S BEST? IS THE 112 LOW MID END TORQUE?

the 112 to me will help build torque due to the overlap and the lobe centerline. it pulls better down low than my 114 cam. if i were to do it again and wanted one that was more driveable i would go to the tr220 or a comp 220. but i will not sway anyone away from a 224 112 cam. a stall will be needed to get some of the low end back.

Yay! Denali doesn't feel you need a 114-119 LSA to work with a power adder no more!

only for nitrous i dont. that is because nitrous is not always there. yes i do believe it in that way. but if i were to build a f/i motor. i would go to a wider lsa. heck man i have had a buddy ask buggy at comp about that and he said that a wider lsa is a product of the correct valve events and that the lsa becomes wider due to the f/i application and all.
