Lm7 are around 350ish at the crank. To many magazines have gotten this result out of junk yard 5.3's. I have read the articles where a 5.3 w/ 235 heads (after market) and cams putting out amlost 500 crank hp. Depending on your transmission loss, 425 rwhp is obtainable. You can believe what you..

Hot rod and I think another. They are boosting these somewhat stock engines to 23/24 lbs of boost making almost 1400 hp at the crank

Yes i think everybody has heard about or read those articles. I think what most everybody is trying to say is your gonna need better heads and slightly bigger cam to get 400 RWHP out of a 5.3, esp thru an awd setup..
What intake setup are you planning on running?

Sure, but I already stated that....perhaps they arent listening...none the less, this 5.3 will be a good sleeper in an AWD platform

My stock compression, stock headed 5.3 makes 330 at the wheels with just a 218/224@.050 cam. It does have the TBSS intake/throttle body combo, 1 3/4"x3" headers, exhaust, CAI, tune and a 3000 stall. It's in a crew cab truck and it's not that radical. A 1 point or 1.5 point more of compression, ported 243/799's or even small aftermarket heads and a little bigger cam should do 400rw without too much problem. Especially if it's going in something as light as a Syclone, it makes everything way more forgiving.

WCC, there are alot of uninformed board members...lol... I am looking for a set of 799 or 243 heads (complete) for this project. If anyone knows of anyone selling please send them my way.
