Cam, pulleys, efans, tune finally installed
#1
I've been collecting parts here since January, and the long weekend gave me an opportunity to finally get them in. Here's everything:
VHP 062 cam
Crane dual valve springs
Thunder Racing 7.4 pushrods
Crane billet double roller adjustable timing set
ASP crank and alternator pulleys
PCMforless tune
34" radiator
05 efans w/ Nelson harness
It took me and my brother two 12 hour days to get everything done and back together, including three hours of trying to do a PCM learn. So I only have 30 miles on it or so, with no WOT blasts, but the truck feels much, much stronger. No charging issues at all, even with a 105A alt, underdrive pulleys, and efans.
It takes much less pedal effort to get up to speed, and throttle response is much snappier. I don't feel like I've lost any low end at all, even with a stock stall. This cam doesn't lope has much as I'd expect from a cam with a 112 LSA, especially with the other clips I've heard of this cam. I guess my huge magnaflow has something to do with that. I has a very nice exhaust note, epecially nice rev.
062 idle vid
idle and rev clip with non-car guy commentary
Can't wait to get back to a dyno and see what I've gained.
Thanks to many members here for helping me get through this project, especially my brother, budhayes3, creederado, marc_w, and stall speed.

I'll post up some vids later, I'm done for the night. Can't wait to get back to a dyno and see what I've gained.

Congradulations. I can't wait to get my cam and exhaust in. I'm sure you will love that combo. I hope so. Its pretty much exactly what I'm in the process of doing to mine right now.

If anyone has the hypertech programer i am willing to trade the superchip + $
for it. The timming advancement on the superchip is to much to spray. the hyper tech has less advancement and safer to spray on

Congrats man, always glad to help in any way I can! Can't wait until the next TTP dyno day to see what kind of numbers you put down...you'll be able to do the 3rd gear pull now too now that your top speed limiter is gone
Have a fun ride home

Well, based on the numbers I put down before, I'd say it's over 300/300. I've never felt this kind of SOTP gain from a mod before. Even at part throttle it's a beast. I can't wait to get it driven more and really let it rip!
I'll get some sound clips up tonight Okie, but it's not as mean as the ones that you posted. The Magnaflow really tames it down.
