Default cam with no stall

i have a 2001 5.3 truck and was wondering what would be the best cam with a nice idle sound that would work well in my truck without a stall or lifters.

any ideas
thanks

You wouldn't need new lifters with a cam swap.

The cheapest route would be to throw a ZO6 cam, springs and pushrods in there. Sock stall or TBSS would be fine.
Now if you wanted to get serious do a search to get an idea of what some of the other guys are running and listen to some sound clips and expect to buy a converter with it.

you wont need a converter for a 212/218 114lsa, I did it on my DD and didnt loose any low end... and it has a little lope to it, if I was to order it again I would do it in a 113 or 112lsa for more lope...

converters are a lot of fun in these trucks. i hate to see anyone dismiss what i think is the best bang for the buck mod there is.

I have a 222/224/112 comp with the TB stall and just bought a yank tt3000 because the TB was not enough. I could not see doing a cam and not changing out the TC. IMO

It depends on what type of truck too. My VHP 210/218 on a 112 was just fine in my RCSB 2wd with a stock converter. I actually gained low end. I would not hesitate to put it in a 4wd ECSB without a converter.

so what determines if you need a stall or not. i was looking for a cam that sound good at idle and give a little more power. i have a 5.3 with lts not cats and a flow 40. wat would sound the best. I kinda wat to stay away from the stall because im not going to be doing this myself and money is kinda a issue.
