No its not fair at all. He was like...."if the rockers fall then i'm gonna have to take the heads and stuff off and its gonna cost you a lot more." I was like "what the crap!!!" So I'm just looking for a way that the rockers won't fall. It might be worth it to just buy the tool, but dang $90 for a one time use tool. I might stop by Home Depot today and pick up a couple things of 5/16" and some smaller.

5/16th and 3/8 rod is what you want. 5/16th is what you rsupposed to be able to use, but it doesn't quite fit on the left side of the block. I would find someone else to do the work. Where are you located ... I may be able to help you out with the tool if you want to do it yourself.

I'm over in northeastern Arkansas...A little too far from Texas. Thanks though man. I'm just gonna try the 5/16" and the 3/8". What kind of metal do you guys prefer? Aluminum is what I thought.

I used 5/16" rod from Lowes. Took a grinder and shaved just a touch off of one to fit in the tight side. Worked perfectly.

Use Steel rod
There is no chance to scrap some of it off while inserting as aluminum would it being softer

Kind of off subject, but where in Northeastern Arkansas do you live? I went to school in Jonesboro.
