Default Cam help.....Anyone running this?

Does anyone have a vid/sound clip of this?

It has been suggest by someone who i really trust (tootall) to run a tsp 220 cam for my set up...Does anyone have this? And what's the difference in sound between a 112lsa and 114? I'm ready to order just hope someone can clear this up.

That has been a proven cam in the 5.3 and 4.8. It doesn't matter if you put it a escb or rcsb! You can get away with a stock converter and stock gears. But if you decide to do a 3k stall and gears, it will just make it that much better! Look up on you tube, "m3srt" he races everyone and anything! Sounds good too! Hope I can help

112 is gonna be more lopey, choppy, whatever you want to call it. 114 is going to be a little smoother of an idle.

Keep in mind . . . you can go bigger if you want to run a stall and gas mileage isn't much of a concern.

Here's one of his many idle vids

m3srt has the tsp 220 114+2 lsa cam. I have watched a lot of his videos.

I was originally going to get the tsp 224r for my 5.3L but decided on the tsp 220 because I am going to be using my stock converter for 6-8 months or so. Some guys have ran the stock converter way past a year with the tsp220 so you can definitely get by with it but a bigger stall will always be a plus like the other guy said.

I will be installing my tsp220 112lsa on saturday so I should be able to have a video clip in 3-4 days or so.

I still reccomend a 3k or 3200 with a 220 cam.. That cam doesn't start pullin hard till 3k or so. Mine with a 3200 worked well in my 5.3.. It pulls good all the way till 63-6500.

These trucks stock should come with a 3k converter

I drive 40 miles to and from work, so yeah gas mileage is a concern, so i will stick with stock converter for now and get a TBss stall, thanks for all the replies guys

Unless its 40 miles of stop and go traffic a converter isn't gunna hurt your mpgs much at all.. A yank tt3000 drives like stock till you get on it alittle but its still a very mild converter.. Or the circleD 278mm 3-3200 would be a nice converter for that cam and still drive fine and you won't lose any milage on the freeway and maybe just a hair in town
