I am not a cam guru, that seems like a pretty big cam for a 4.8, plus you will need atleast a 3000-3200 stall.... im pretty sure somebody else will chime in here soon...

Thats a VERY large cam for the 4.8. What are you looking for? They have a few guys on here running the TR220, or TR 224 in the 4.8's SSlow4.8 I believe and Thunder01? I have a similar (to the TR224) in my 6l. I like it, but think its too big for a 4.8. I had it ground when I had my 3000 stall, that flashed to about 3400, now I have a TB stall, and its not quite enough, so you would probably need at least a 3200 if you get the SDPC cam. Also, you can get any cam manufacturer to custom grind you a cam for teh same, or neer the same price. I used cam motion, Futral motorsports is also helpful. Good luck, let us know what you decide.

wow would that be fun in a 4.8L. i think even a 3200 might be a bit soft with that cam. shifting it around 6800 or so and using a converter around 3600-4000 would get the job done.

I know where you can get a good deal on a nice little cam for a 4.8. Noticable choppy idle yet plenty of low end tq. It worked great in my 4.8. It could be used with a stock converter but would perform best with a Trailblazer stall or a little more. It would require tuning to get it to idle properly.

Yep. Most all aftermarket cams you will have to have them. There are a few low duration/low lift cams you might get away with stock springs but I doubt you could with this one. The longer pushrod is needed due to the smaller base circle on the cam. They have to decrease the base circle in order to get more lift on the lobe. Otherwise, the lobe would be larger than the bearing journal and would not go in the engine. Stock cams are around .450" lift. LS6/z06 springs would probably work as well.
