Sorry man, but I went with a lot larger cam than the 3 I listed. I was trying to stay kinda mild back then, but I got over that pretty quick.

I've been running the VHP 044 cam with Z06 springs for over a year in my '02 5.3L GMC extended cab. I like what it does for me. The truck with a 3.42 rear gear still gets 19-20mpg at 70-75mph on the interstate, idle has been increased 50 rpm over stock, thus it has excellent street manners and pulls very strong from 2000-6000rpm.

Noticed some off idle increase but thats probably due more to the 1.8 rockers and headers. Significant seat of the pants increase from the cam is felt at 2000 rpm. I purchased this cam because I do alot of Interstate driving at 1800-2000rpm, (70-75mph, which is at the bottom of the cams torque curve) and want instant passing power. Truck has excellent acceleration with or without a trailer at this speed. I don't race, but I do want perforance when its needed.

The VHP 080 came out after I purchased my cam. My cam timing card has the same spec's as the 043 cam on the VHP web site; however, I can't be sure if the cam profiles are the same. The 044 cam and all the others mentioned on this thread will get to 2000rpm from idle very quickly. Your 4.10 rear gear should get you moving quickly regardless which cam you buy.

would you say 30rwhp could be had from this cam? would you have gone with another one if you could do it again? I appreciate your help.
