choose a cam now, do converter first that matches the cam you will run eventually. you will be happy with the change the converter alone will make.
I tow with my circle d 3200 and havent had any problems, get a good cooler tho

i wonder if i should wait on the LTs, and do the cam/convertor at once, the truck has a set of shorties on it now. goal for the truck is to get it into the mid-low 14s, currently runs 15.05 @ 93.59 with a 2.39 60'

engine is a bone stock 110k mile 2006 5.3, mods now are shorties, no cats, 3" "catback" with fullsize magnaflow muffler dumped at the axle, tune, cut airbox with drop in k&n, built 4l60e, stock g80 and 3.42s

also, the tune thats in it now is for the old motor(230/236 .598/.601 cam, 3600convertor and 4.56s) so the tune isnt even close for a stock engine

Why would you run that tune if your engine is stock? That is just asking for trouble.

i bought the truck a few weeks ago as is, i did not know that until i located the guy that built the truck prior to the guy i bought it from buying it. i had plans on a cam/converter so i was gonna wait till i did those to have the tune fixed, instead of having it tuned twice

??? confusing i know, the truck honestly runs great, had i not found the guy that built the truck, i would of never known. story i got was factory engine had the cam, convertor, gears, engine broke a lifter and trashed it, so he pulled engine, bought the 06 5.3, installed the TB convertor and 3.42s, and traded it in on a 07 F150, the speedo is off roughly 15mph at 65mph, speedo reads 50mph when actually going 65, so that goes along with the story.
