Are v6 and v8 motor mounts the same in the GMT-800 trucks?

Frame pads and mounts...are they the same?

no. and there's also a difference between 2wd & 4wd/AWD
normally shouldn't be too hard to find in a junk yard, but when i did my swap, i ended up having to order new ones from GM because every yard i called/went to somehow only had 2wd

Yep,you need the correct ones,not sure why they made these trucks with so many mount configurations,they all look the same until you have real close look.I got lucky,walked into a wrecking yard and the
2WD 5.3 frame mounts were just laying unbolted in the battery tray,2WD trucks are hard to find in this part of the world!

it's because the v6 & v8 engines use 2 different style blocks requiring different mounting locations. then to make it more complicated, the 2wd & 4wd frames are slightly different up front to accommodate the different suspensions.

i pretty sure the actual motor mount itself is the same on 2wd v6 and v8 but the pedastel is diffrent

Nope,looks the same but flip them over and compare them,they will not interchange for a 2000,can't say for later years.

odd on my swap i used the 4.3 mounts sence they were new and just picked up new v8 pedastels i went from 4.3 in my 2000 to a 5.3 out of a 2001 1/2 ton 2wd

hmm... maybe my 99 4WD was different? i grabbed the LM7 from an 01 Hoe
