Default Cam choice help

I have currently have a 224/232 581/596 114 lsa. I hate this cam i doesnt make no power till 4100 rpm in a 5.3. current parts on the truck long tubes,intake,4.10 gear 3600 converter. I see alot of people running the 224 cam im asking what a good choice in a good cam that makes bad power all around.

Another classic case of over-camming. A 220 would be perfect.

218/222

Mine doesn't start hauling till 3500ish but it didn't lose any (much?) bottom end torque.

tr220 is proven cam and with 551 lift easy on springs. later on, i would say swap in a tbss or nnbs intake and tb. good luck.

alot of people are afraid to run other cams than your tipical 220,224 and honestly those cams suck ***** compared to the ones i run in my truck. on my 5.3 i went 12.16 @ 110 MPH with 2-3 shift problems and i did not do no weight reduction at all on my truck. good luck on selecting your new cam.
