Default Cam choice 6.0L swap?

I am starting to look around for a 6.0L longblock to swap into my 04 RST in a month or so. Havnt had any luck yet finding a longblock but I should be able to soon hopefully. As for a cam I havnt made up my mind yet. The truck is my daily driver so I wont be going to big. I have been leaning towards this cam
Thunder Racing Custom Camshaft - 220/220 .551/.551 112 LSA 1500-6500 RPM Power Band. Computer Tuning Required with automatic transmission cars. A very well balanced camshaft that makes excellent power across the entire RPM range. Due to the fast ramp rate of this camshaft, the use of 1.8 rockers is not recommended

Seems like a sold cam for a daily driver. I should see a huge gain in power. And with all the bolt ons I already have, jba shorty headers, exahsut and soon a HPT tune I should be able to reach my goal of 375whp with the completed 6.0L swap. Let me know if you guys have any better recc's or if this cam is a good choice. Thanks

that cam is pretty small for a 6.0. I'd go with a tr224 for a daily driver. Also those shorty headers aren't gonna do **** to add power. A tr224 might get you to 375 rwhp, but you're gonna need a DAMN good tune.

Get a stall converter. THe yank tt3000 is a really nice DD converter. With that converter a 224/224 will be a nie camshaft and get that truck movin nicely.

I would look at another cam with a 6 degree exhaust bias for those shorties. I would have a valve job done on the heads and mill em. With the truck intake you dont want to go with a big cam, in order to get to that number or close the components need to work togethor.
If your serious about it Id look at adding headwork, lt's and cutout to the list then you can run a cam like that and get close. Otherwise youll be disappointed.

Thanks for the info guys, as for the torque converter my truck is a 5-spd should have stated that before. DLH2006 great times, that is my goal when my swap is completed. How is the TR224 for a daily driver cam from your experiance with it seems like it is the cam to get. I wish my truck came with lt's in the first place. But even if I cant reach the 400rwhp mark. Mid 3's will be plenty of power anyway. Anything will be better than my 245whp 4.8L right now.

Its a great dd cam, besides since you have a manual tranny you will not have as much HP loss as you would have with an automatic. Dont be fooled, those numbers are achievable.
Just make sure you go with the right combination of parts for whatever setup you choose.

Make sure that you can launch hard and hook even better.

Great I will go with the TR224 then. Just got to find a deal on a 6.0L longblock now. Do you have a link to any pics of your truck I would love to see them. If I can hook you think with jba shorties, jba exhaust, k&n intake, tune, and 6.0L swap and TR224 I should be able to run mid 13's. Thanks
