I know now what a sewing machine sounds like inder my hood. Might switch the springs back out with time, no big deal just got a good deal on these so I snaged them.
I let the truck run at 1600+/- rpms for a while hoping to idle
I made sure to plug the hose back in on the valve cover and the pcv valve.
Ill check everything again in the morning

You will need a tune with this one... I had the same cam in my 5.3 done about a month ago.... it wont idle at 550..... it stalls out..... I had to have my idle raised to 700 it runs like a champ now.....
And by the way i dont know about your year... but the 2003+ have drive by wire.... i dont think you can adjust an idle screw.... and its not recommended to drill holes in the butterfly...... your programmer should be able to raise the idle.....
hope his helps.... PM me for more info on what I had to do!!

The sewing machine sound is the springs. Heard alot of people talk about them.
The pushrods are 7.4 Comp Cams Hardened pushrods Which is what Comp told me would be fine to use with my setup.
The truck is a 2000 so the idle can be adjusted.

ok , I opened the throttle plate just enough to crack open. Would idle better. Took it on a test drive and it has NO power on take off or down low. It builds up which I was expecting a little. Looks like Im gonna have to get a tune

i can only think of two things.
1. check over all of your work and make sure it went back the same way you took it apart. i know a pain.
2. a higher stall then what you have will help allot.

Double checked everything.
All Vaccum hose hooked up
Still wont idle after turning the screw in a bit.
Took the programer off, wasnt doing any good.
Changed all the plugs just because
Has a misfire on ALL cylinders
Has 16 inches of vaccum at idle
Truck acts like it loads up untill about 3000 rpms
Pulled the cam sensor out since I didnt remove it to install the cam, looked good
I talked to a local guy and he told me to check the vaccum. Even though it has good vaccum at idle. We have come to the conclusion that I got the gears a tooth off maybe. Im gonna tear it down again Saturday, check the timing, check the torque on the rockers again.
