Default Cam for 6.0 Buildup!!!!

I'm currently in the process of building my 6.0 and can't decide on a camshaft. I constantly read through the archives searching for the right cam. I was looking at the TR224 and 220 but I read that my low end will suffer bad on a street driven vehicle.

It's a 2000 ECSB Silverado 6.0, heads are being milled for 10.8 comp, 3 angle valve job, and pocket porting. I'm running a TB converter and 4.10 gears. The truck will be tuned on a dyno.

I want it to be streetable (idle) and not kill when put into reverse or after accelerating and stop short and engine kills.

Help guys,
Rob

Hey Randy what's up you probably don't remember me I was the guy at Lesson with Louis a month checking out your trucks and getting the details on the 3 6.0 motors.

Thanks for the help. I really want to know what the specs are on Sammy's cam. As soon as I pick out a cam I'm gonna start putting motor back together. I gonna have to hook up with you guys at No Problem one weekend when truck is done.

The 222/224 your talking about is in Justin's truck right. Let me know if you can find out what's in Sammy's truck.

I chose the high lift .212/.218 .557/.56x for the 6.0L I was going to swap. I still really like that cam, but might go for the TR224...especially if you have someone good locally who is going to dyno tune it for you. I would think that idle issues and such would be no problem with a good tune. I think anything larger would jeopardize the drivability of daily usage.

You might wanna call Futral Motorsports, they can help you pick out a perfect cam for your truck. They use cammotion lobes, which are better than comp lobes and give more low-end because of their design. That also allows you to run a little larger cam. I wish I would have known about them when I was picking out a cam.
