Cam for 5.3 with supercharger in mind
#12
I went for the GT 7 on 5.3 with no headers for that reason to help exhaust flow.Headers and Corsa exhaust are loud and I use this truck to take family on long vacation trips so loud exhaust would suck for 12 or more hour road trips. Also easier on springs with less lift.

That cam is a very pop cam for FI setups.. Just for the record, alot of guys here know I am running a cam on a 112 lsa with a blower.. I can't say that it makes that much less power then a cam on a higher lsa, cause this is the only cam I have had but it def makes power, I dunno if it would be justifiable to change out for a min hp gain...

I ran a Crane Cam in my 5.3 for ~60,000 miles with full bolt-ons and true duals with converters. The Cam was 208/216-.530/.530-113+5, ran it with LS6 springs and hardened 7.4" pushrods. Cam was badass! It was the perfect cam for the 5.3 IMO. It had -14* overlap and had really good torque from 2400 rpms & up. It peaked and flat-lined 5600-5800 rpms and dynoed at 286rwhp/296rwtq in 2nd gear. If I had a 5.3 and was going to slap a roots or twin-screw blower on it, I would for sure use that cam again. With a 2600 Yank converter, I think it would do wonders for a big tire truck like yours. Just my .02!
